Today, the life of Billy Graham ended here on earth. At the age of 99, Billy Graham used the vast majority of his life to lead people to Christ. Billy is probably the best known evangelic leader of our time. I remember as a child watching him on TV. Something was soothing about his message and the way that he delivered it. Billy always spoke of a heaven and a hell. This fact is something that many Church leaders of our time avoid.
The life of Billy Graham was significant not because he was well known, but the impact that he had on peoples lives. Many presidents trusted Billy as their spiritual adviser. Billy knew the word of God better than anyone that I can think of. His understanding of the word and dedication to the Lord lead an excellent example for many of us to follow.
The life of Billy Graham may have ended, but his spirit lives on.
One thing that we know is that Billy entered through the gates of Heaven today. He can now see Jesus face to face. His life's work and passion for his creator has now come full circle. Though Billy is gone from earth, his ministry still lives on. The word of God is never changing and the messages that Billy gave over the decades are still relevant today. It is great to see that Billy's son Franklin has taken the torch to keep the ministry alive.
It is mind-boggling to think of how many people that Billy Graham led to know Jesus. I remember seeing stadiums full of people listing to Billy preach. Some of these athletic stadiums housed more people during a sermon then they did on game day. Our God is so much bigger than we give him credit for. Billy knew that if God were on his side, all things would be possible.
Matthew 19:26 NASB 26 And looking at them Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
