I am sure that if I asked most of you if you work hard, you would tell me yes. See in our minds we create a thresh hold of good enough for ourselves. Is our job good enough just to get by, or is it done whole heartily? Society is always moving the bar and re-defining what an honest day's work is for an honest day's pay. Instead of working as hard as capable, we tend to do back off when it is for someone else's benefit.

What if I told you that you should work hard for your boss even if you don't want to? Did you know that by working hard for your boss, you are glorifying God? It may seem strange to pair the two together. How can one possibly be glorifying God by busting their rear for their boss?

Colossians 3:23 NASB “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men,

When you work hard it honors God.

Good things come from a good day's work. If you use your job situation to match up with your spiritual walk, you may be surprised by beneficial overlaps. When you push your endurance to the max, you can find comfort and guidance in prayer. Calling on the Lord to help you with your situation will bring you closer to him. Instead of just passing the time to get by, consider making yourself an example. When you are a positive light for others, your rays may spread in others lives as well. Your co-workers can see your ambition and strive to reach the same satisfaction.

Proverbs 13:4 NASB “The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, But the soul of the diligent is made fat.”

I like Proverbs 13:4 because it shows me the benefit and glory when you work hard.

What do we get by working hard?

We can crave to be successful, but if we don't act, we will never get anything. If we consistently work hard, we will be filled. I am not saying that success is instant. Many people work hard their entire life, but fail to meet their expectations. When we work hard for the Lord, we will always be filled. We will desire his will for our lives instead of chasing something that we may never obtain.

Peace comes from hard work in the Lord. Our mind and soul are set free when our expectations are to honor God.
