No matter who you are or where you are at in your life, you have gifts and talents. I am not trying to be a motivational speaker when I talk about gifts and talents. I just want you to realize that there is something unique that makes you different and better than someone else. God gave each one of us things that we are good at. We all are uniquely qualified to zoom past others based on the gifts and talents that we were born with.
Once you have identified your gifts and talents, how do you use them to further God's Kingdom? Most of us use our skills to excel at work or in our professional lives. Others use their gifts to support their family or community. Instead of using our gifts and talents to further our wants and desires, how about giving back to the creator?
It is great to see people work for Christ by giving of themselves. There is something uniquely special about giving of one's time instead of one's money. Anyone can put money into an offering plate. It takes selfless individuals to go above and beyond to showcase their talents.
Why do your gifts and talents matter to God?
God specifically chose the gifts and talents that you would receive. He gave us all a job to do in furthering his Kingdom. How are you using your gifts to bless others?
1 Peter 4:10 NASB As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
There are many ways to serve.
Just think about how you can use your talents to bless others. Are you a master of a trade? Consider donating your services to help your Church or those in need. Do you have a gift of nurturing? Consider volunteering to help watch children in Sunday school. Do you own a business? Find ways that your company can serve others in a Christ-like way. Are you a great cook? There are always times where you can help others while filling their stomachs.
See, no matter what your gift or talent is, you can use it to serve others and further God's Kingdom.
