The Bible talks about a woman ill for eleven years who reached out and touched Jesus robe so that she is healed. As he turned around, she told him that if I just touch your robe I know I will be healed and he healed her because of her faith. You can find this in Matthew 9.
– But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her, He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour. – Matthew 9:22 NLT
This woman has incredible faith, while many of us think we have her faith, I wonder if we indeed share her strength? I ask that because I, like many others, express having a strong faith, but seem to fall short when it comes to putting my struggles in God's hands.
Some of us believe unshakably, yet we are also convinced that we are unworthy of God's help. This idea that we are unworthy is arrogant if you think that we don't trust God enough to decide what he is capable of handling for us.
At the same time, we might be afraid God won't hear our prayers. He will always hear our prayer, but it may not be answered when and how we wish. The question is are we walking with Jesus, or are we walking our path?
Reach out and touch His robe
If we are to reach out and touch the robe of Jesus we have to be walking his path. Are we willing to follow him? Do you go into prayer when you need him most?
Walking with Jesus is often tough, especially when it comes to putting the destiny of loved ones in his hand. Realizing we are powerless to control what happens to us is one thing, understanding we are powerless to control what happens to our loved ones is incredibly difficult to accept. Either way, we have to let go and walk with Jesus.
So, do you have enough faith that you believe you will be healed by reaching out and touching His robe?
