You have heard of seeing Jesus through the storm. The phrase came to mind today. All day it has been cloudy with constant drizzle. There was a dark gray overcast with no blue sky in sight. You could still tell that the sun was shining up above the cloud cover because every once in a while the clouds were illuminated by the sun. The sun was just shining enough to light the day and let you know that it was still there. Doesn't our walk with Jesus mimic the clouds and the sun in the sky? Our sins are the cloud cover, and no matter how many clouds there are, there is still light illuminating them.
The Bible tells us in John about Jesus' light.
John 1:5 NASB “The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”
John 8:12 NASB “Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”
How do we see Jesus through the storm?
How do we see Jesus through the storm? How do we know that Jesus is there? John tells us that Jesus said he is the light of the world. If Jesus is the light of the world, then he can illuminate anything in any situation.
Sin might darken us in our lives. The good news is no matter how much we sin, following Jesus still shines a light in our life. Since our sins are measured the same, there is no sin that Jesus cannot overcome. When you feel like your life is heading down the wrong path and nothing is going right, find comfort in Jesus. Seeing Jesus through the storm can be as simple as saying a prayer and being reminded that he is always in control.
