Sometimes we are dealt anything but ideal situations in our life. Everyone deals with trials in different ways. The trials in our lives do not make us stronger. The way we handle our trials is what builds character and brings us closer to God. No one says that it is going to be easy to just go with the flow. Sometimes God gives us situations so that we can grow in him.
James 1:12 NASB Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
There are two different types of struggles that we endure. Those that test our faith and those that test our spirit. Being a person of faith makes it easier to handle situations that are thrown your way. Just believing in God the father is sometimes not enough to conquer struggles in our life. The only way that I have found to get through imperfect situations is to put my faith in Gods will fully. It is not easy in every situation. I would be lying if I told you it was.
How do we grow from bad situations?
Spiritual growth happens most frequently when we let God take control of dangerous situations. Being in constant prayer is the best way to make this happen. When you know that something bad is coming your way, your first instinct is to pray. When you go through any struggle in life, continue to pray for guidance. After you get through the situation, pray a prayer of thanks.
Have you heard the saying “God why do you let me go through oceans of problems?” God's answer is “because your enemies cannot swim.” Have you ever thought of your problems as blessings? Sometimes bad situations are not as bad as you think. Maybe the path that God sends you on is for a reason. You may never know why, but you should always know there is a reason.
Joshua 1:9 NASB Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
