What does your overwhelmed life look like? Do you find your head spinning just trying to get through the day? My overwhelmed life is usually brought on by a lack of prayer. When I find myself taking charge of situations instead of relying on God, my life becomes tangled.

The tricky web of deceit that Satan twines to ensnare us keeps us from relying on God. Through prayer and faith, we break through the trap that Satan has set. When we are focusing on what God wants for us, instead of what we want, life gets much easier. Letting go of our desires is one of the hardest things to do. But let me tell you first hand, breaking this cycle relieves you more than reaching the top of a steep mountain ever would.

Putting our faith and trust in God's will removes stress from our life and changes our expectations for outcomes. It is one of the worst feelings to desire something so much that you live an overwhelmed life. Once you reach your goal, you still find emptiness. You think if I just get that promotion at work, my life would be easier. If I could just buy that new car, it would make my life so much better. When we put things in context, less is more. The more we have and the more we desire, the more overwhelmed life becomes.

Matthew 19:26 NASB  And looking at them Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Simplicity is key in overcoming a overwhelmed life.

God does make the choice of following him easy. Being a Christian is simple and rewarding at the same time. Finding eternal peace in the promise that God made through the blood shed by his son, creates self-peace. When we struggle with letting go of the demons inside us, is the point when we become overwhelmed. Putting God in the driver's seat of our life removes doubt and fear. Doubt and fear are two of the biggest obstacles in being successful.

Success is not measured by what we accumulate in our life. Success is however measured by the inner peace and comfort we experience by following Christ. If you have reached the point in your life where it seems that nothing is going your way, I encourage you to let God take the wheel in your life. You cannot put God in control of the wheel by being a back seat driver. Full control creates a path for his will to guide you. Let go of your struggles and give them to God. It will be the best decision that you have ever made.
