Sometimes it is hard to keep calm when we are in the midst of a troubling situation. When we freak out and visibly show our struggles is when we most likely doubt God. We do not doubt who God is, but we doubt what he can do. If our first reaction is to go into panic mode, we should switch to prayer instead.
One of the hardest things in my life is to take a step back from the situation and trust God. It is easy to give someone this advice, but it is another thing to try to follow it yourself. After intentionally trying to catch myself over the past few years, I think that I have done a better job trusting God. One thing that I have learned the hard way is not to stress out about problems.
When you keep calm instead of stress, the results turn out much better. The results may come to the same conclusion in the end, but you have avoided creating other problems along the way. It is easy for situations to spin out of control when we don't keep calm.
How to keep calm through prayer.
There is no magic pill that you can take to keep calm. Prayer will calm you more than any meditation ever will. When we trust God to deliver us from our struggles, he will. There is something so soothing and comforting knowing that God is there to help us with our efforts.
Isaiah 41:10 NASB ‘Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
We can find internal strength when we send our prayers to God. God already knows what we need; he is just waiting for us to ask. One thing to keep in mind is that God answers all prayer. With that being said, sometimes he does not answer our prayers the way we want them answered. When we keep calm and trust God, we are putting our faith in his wisdom. It is time to let go of the stress and give your struggles to God.
