Removing God from schools has been the most significant way Satan has destroyed our youth. Before you get hot and bothered about me bashing public schools, just hear me out for a minute.
First off, I am a product of public education. I went to public school from Kindergarten all the way through my high school years. I have had many teachers along the way that we're great, and they taught me a lot.
Follow me for a minute as I bring my point full circle. Here we go.
The Bible says that we are supposed to be the salt and light of the world.
Matthew 5:13-16 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
The Bible makes it very clear that we are supposed to be seen not hidden.
What does the Bible say about being teaching and spreading the gospel? I think back in my reading where Jesus teaches the disciples and instructs them to follow him.
Mark 16:15 “And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”
Jesus said this after he was crucified and rose from the dead.
The disciples called Jesus teacher because he was training them to be like him. After Jesus had been done teaching the disciples, he instructed them to go out in the world and preach the gospel.
Matthew 28:19-20 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Both of these passages tell us to go out into the world and preach the gospel. How is it that Jesus did not instruct the disciples to go out into the world and share the gospel immediately upon crossing paths with him Jesus wanted to teach and train the disciples so that they could effectively go out into the world and share his message. If Jesus didn't have grown men go out into the world to share the gospel without training, then how do we expect our children to do so?
The world is removing God from everything
Living in a time and day where removing God from everything is the new standard, where do our children fit in? Do you realize that your child's school has their ear more than you do as a parent and your church combined? Just let that set in for just a moment. If you are doing everything that you think is right and your child's school is doing the opposite, then who wins your child's attention. Couple that with outside influences such as friends, TV, social media, and video games and you can see what I am getting at.
Removing God from school and society makes it tough for your message as a parent and the message of your Church to resonate with your Child. On top of that, we want them to be the salt and the light of the world. When you send your child out into the world without the proper tools, how can you possibly expect them to succeed?
Fighting the culture
If we want to fight a culture that is Removing God from everything, we need to train the next generation of Biblical warriors. What we are doing isn't enough. So many young people are struggling and leaving the Church because of this.
These kids are torn by our teachings and integrating themselves into a society where they want to feel accepted. We keep setting these kids up for failure, and their spiritual life suffers as a result.
I understand that not everyone has the means to send their children to a Christian school. Churches need to do a better job of supporting Christian education as their organizations will not survive without the next generation. The days of being stubborn and selfish need to come to an end. We must work together as parents, Churches, and Schools to train spiritual warriors.
Working together as Christians
When we do not work together as one body in Christ, we aid in removing God from our children's lives. It is a hard pill to swallow, but Biblical integration in education and salvation for the next generation go hand in hand.
If you still doubt the correlation of education and diminishing attendance in Church, look no further than the drop in adolescent engagement in Church. God wants him in every part of our lives including education. When you are removing God from the largest segment of a child's life, you are opening the door wider for Satan to take control.
We must do something different. What we are doing now is not working for our children. I would encourage you to pray about sending your child to a Christian school where God is integrated into their teaching. I can tell you from my experience that it is well worth the sacrifices that our family makes to send our children to a Christian school. Nothing is more important than my children's salvation. I am willing to give up everything in my life to make sure that they have all the tools they need to become the next generation of spiritual leaders.
