How are you at confronting fears in your life?  Do you lie awake thinking about all of the things going wrong that you have no control over?  I spent many years worrying about stuff that I had no control over.  Fear will make you tired, depressed, stressed, anxious, and the list goes on and on.

Confronting fears in your life will release the chains that you bind yourself to.  There is only one way to face your fears, and that is to turn them over to Jesus.  Pretty simple right?  Only if you start confronting fears that eat you up inside.  See, we have a tendency of trying to fix things ourselves.  We pray general prayers such as please fix this or please help me with that.  When we do this, we are still holding on to fears instead of letting them go.

When we pray the “genie prayer” as I call it, most of the time our wish is not granted.  When we start confronting fears by completely turning over the situation to Jesus, we start to see results.

Confronting fears through prayer.

Specifically praying about a situation and asking God for his hand in the resolution is the best way to start.  When we pray for his will to be done, we turn the entire situation over to God.  Confronting fears can only happen when we pray like this.

Matthew 6:9-13 NASB “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.10 ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.11 ‘Give us this day our daily bread. 12 ‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’

If you keep running into fear and rejection in your life, consider switching up your prayer life.  This approach helped me, and I am sure it will help you as well.
