It feels good when we are blessing people.  There is something unique about doing something for someone that cannot repay you.  If you are in a position to do so, I will encourage you to make it one of your goals in life to bless others.  Blessings don't have to be just about finances.  You can bless others with your time or talents as well.

The pay it forward movement is gaining popularity.  If you have not heard of the term pay it forward, here is the run down.  If you are at a restaurant and want to bless someone, tell the cashier that you want to pay the other person's bill.  You don't even have to let people know it was you.  Another example of paying it forward is to return the favor you received to someone else down the road.  Maybe you are down on your luck, and someone comes by and helps you out.  The biggest way that you can repay the kindness is to bless someone else when you get back on your feet.

Blessing people makes you feel good because goodness comes from God.  Being a blessing to other people shows your Christ-like attributes.  You gain empathy and humbleness when you help others in need.  God sees what you are doing and is pleased.

Hebrews 13:16 NASB And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

Blessing people will honor God.

When we share with others, we please God.  God gives us finances, time and talents so that we can further his Kingdom.  Being good stewards of what we are blessed with is important.  It is a shame to see people living under a rock when God has blessed them so richly.  It is important to remember that what we have comes from God.  Remember the saying God giveth and God taketh away?  We are only here on this earth for a short period.  We do not get to take anything with us when we die.

Furthering God's Kingdom is a forever action.  Focusing on worldly things will only be left behind when you move on to eternity.

Blessing people may have a farther reach than you may realize.  You never know when your act of kindness will reach someone in a way that leads them to the Lord.
