Being strong is not an easy task. We seemingly carry the burden for everyone in our lives. Our strength helps others through their weakness. Being strong emotionally and mentally sometimes seems like a endless game. Where is our breaking point? Is there even one?
We have all heard that there is always a breaking point. But is there really? Some people are stronger than others by how they cope with what life throws at them. If you haven't seen your breaking point yet, you probably have not seen the final straw on the camels back so they say.
How does being strong for others affect our walk with Jesus?
We need to find strength in Jesus. Easier said than done right? The closer we get in our walk with Jesus, the easier it is to become stronger. I am not saying that breaking down and being weak says you are not on a journey with God. I am saying that the more you trust in Jesus and mirror him in your life, the easier your problems will get.
We cannot grow spiritual strength without Jesus plain and simple. We can read all of the bible verses we want. Listen to as much Christian music we want. Attend as many Church services as we can. But the only way to really grow spiritually is through prayer and our walk with Jesus.
Philippians 4:13 “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”
With Jesus we can do everything. We can battle any struggle and overcome any challenge. When we are weary, he will increase our power. He will uplift us and build us as a strong foundation.
Isaiah 40:29 “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”
Being strong for everyone can only be done with the help of Jesus. Our strength is with Jesus. There is a lot of times where we can't help ourselves. We have nothing left when it comes to helping others. Let me tell you that one of the best ways to make yourself stronger is to help others through Jesus. When you become a foundation and an encouragement for others, you will strengthen yourself.
We need to bring our struggles to Jesus. Let Jesus hold us as we walk through our struggles in life. When we think that our life is falling apart, it is really just falling into place. God is forming us into the person that he wants us to be through our struggles. He strengthens us through our struggles. He draws us closer to him in the struggle as he holds us through it.
