Reliving the pains of your past to break free

Reliving pain from the past

Who would have thought reliving the pains of your past is necessary to breaking free to a bright future? Why would anyone want to go back and rethink through all this history?

Reliving the pains of your past allows you to get all this junk out and confront the demons that haunt you. It hurts, but it is worth it.

We aren't going to let go of them until we confess the pains of the past, and at the same time account for the good things we have accomplished.

Reliving the pains is an opportunity to make a plan to handle our life differently. To plan not to repeat the mistakes, we have already made.

No more excuses, total accountability. We won't do this in a few days, and we may need to revisit if we miss something.

We need people who will support us, and help us get through the challenge of reliving our past, as the pains are real.

Our truths will come out. No sugar coating, pretending like we aren't hurt, angry or even bitter. No more hiding from what keeps us from success.

Come Clean reliving the pains of your past

When we come clean, others won't hold us back with threats rendered powerless. Suddenly we gain the power to dismiss their negative labels. We get a second chance from God.

When we reveal our deepest secrets, we tell others this is who I am, and you are no longer going to keep me cowering out of fear.

Coming clean by reliving the pains of your past creates opportunity where there was previously despair.

“At night my bones are filled with pain, which gnaws at me relentlessly – Job 30:17 NLT

Keep in mind that God already knows everything there is to know about us. Confessing our secrets to him gives us the confidence to admit guilty feelings to others. We can go to them and ask for forgiveness and forgive those who have hurt us.

My thoughts are a summation of what a program like Celebration Recovery will do for you. It is the program to overcome Hurts, Hang-ups, and Habits. The program is in churches all over the country and started at Saddleback Church in California.

I've learned that Celebrate Recovery is a program for anyone who wants to get over their past and change the future.
