Dear Lord, my life before you is full of heartache, anger, and frustration. But life with you is full of happiness, joy, and strength. Yes, I shed tears as you are walking me through the pains of my past. You are freeing me of my guilts, preparing me for an overwhelming joy.
My life before you left me searching for a way to be content, without anxiety, depression and to find stability. It never happened until you came into my life until I welcomed you into my life.
And while I am not where I want to be, I know that I am in the best place yet. Teaching me what it is to be a follower of Jesus. To walk with Him. You are showing me how to love to others, at the same time how to accept love from others.
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. – Psalm 32:8 NIV
You have taken over, giving me words of others who are struggling, like myself, who need someone to show them that we are all broken people. That you are there for me, and if you can be there for me, you will be there for them.
You put it in my heart to read your words, cover-to-cover. You gave me a church to call home that fills my thirst and challenges me to think deeper, to better understand what you want for me. And you provide others for me to feed off of, and to share with such as my life group and Bible Study.
Letting go of my life before You
You have brought me into Celebration Recovery, the biggest challenge I have to face yet, as I confront my hurts, hangups, and habits.
Oh God, I thank you for taking me to places I could not dream of going, for changing my life, and using my hands, thoughts, and everything that I am to do your work.
I am so thankful that I have your love, the greatest anyone could have.
