It is impossible to buy your way to heaven. No amount of tithing to your church can buy your way to heaven. You cannot pay someone to forgive your sins. Our sins cannot be prayed away by others. And we cannot pay others either through money or works to get us to heaven.
Why do some churches guilt me into making offerings in exchange for my salvation? If you are in a Jesus-centered church, you will not be guilted into donating as a basis for salvation. As Christians, we are Jesus followers. As Jesus followers, we solely rely on Jesus for salvation from our sins. The purpose of Jesus coming to earth and dying for our sins was to pay a debt for us. Jesus bought and paid for our sins with his life.
1 Corinthians “For you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”
Direct conflict in church teachings.
If you believe that Jesus bought and paid for your sins, how can you also believe that you can buy your way to heaven? If we can use a church leader or church body to set us free from our sins, then what is the point of Jesus dying?
The two ideas are in direct conflict with each other. You cannot solely worship Jesus as a God and depend on your church to save you from your sins. Jesus did not hand over his divine power to man so that they could circumvent him. Jesus told us to act like him, follow him. When you put your faith in a church leader or church, you are putting your faith in people, not Jesus.
Building barriers between yourself and Jesus do not help develop your spiritual journey; it separates you from him.
1 Corinthians 7:23 “You were bought with a price; do not become slaves of men. ”
Do you find yourself a slave of man? Have you been tricked or deceived into believing that there is an alternate route to heaven other than through Jesus?
Christianity is the most simple religion in the world. God made it so simple because he loves you.
Can you buy your way heaven?
You cannot buy your way to heaven. Man created that idea. God sent Jesus to earth so that he alone could buy our sins and give us a route to heaven. Without Jesus dying on the cross, we would all spend an eternity in hell.
I can see many church institutions leading people astray. Some churches even leading people to hell in the name of Jesus. When we believe that man can save us from our sins, we are in direct conflict with Jesus.
John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. “
