Jesus Saved Mary From Her Sins As Well

Jesus saved Mary

Jesus saved Mary from her sins just like every other person he came to die for on the cross.  This time of year, we are reminded of the birth of Jesus.  The celebration of Christmas with the advent season gives us an opportunity to reflect on the miracle of Jesus' birth.  When we think of the birth of Jesus, we also need to think of his death.  Jesus was born 100% man and 100% percent God so that he could die on the cross to save sinners, including his mother, Mary.

Romans 3:23 NASB for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

The above verse in Romans reminds me that we are all broken.  Everyone of us.  All of those who came before and all of those to come.  Every human is flawed and separated from God by sin.  Jesus was the only sinless person to walk the face of the earth.

1 John 1:10 NASB If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

The only way we could be saved through sin was through the crucifixion of Jesus on the cross.  The punish that Jesus bared on the cross was a punishment that we deserved for our sin.  See, our God is a just God.  When we disobey, we must be held accountable.  Part of the accountability that we receive as a punishment is a separation from God.  The only way that God could hold humanity responsible for their sin while at the same time offering forgiveness was to send his son to be sacrificed in our place.

Jesus saved Mary just like he saved you.

Mary, the mother of Jesus, was a sinner just like you and me.  The Bible shows us that we are all sinners. God used Mary to deliver the savior of the world.  Jesus came to earth to bridge the gap between sinful man and God.  Without out Jesus, man would be forever separated from God by their sin.

John 14:6 NASB Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

Jesus is the only way to heaven.  Jesus is the only way to Heaven, regardless what of what you have been taught.  His words were spoke in the book of John and said that “no one comes to the Father but through Me.”  There is no grey area when it comes to salvation. The only path to God in Heaven is through Jesus.  Any other way you think will get you to heaven will lead you to an eternity in hell.

Why the Advent season?

Jesus saved Mary and every other person willing to put their faith in him.  Our focus this Advent season should be on Jesus and him alone.  The birth of Jesus is significant because of his death.  As we get the opportunity to share the birth of Jesus with others, let us not forget the death of Jesus on the cross as well.  When you share the entire purpose of Jesus' coming, you open up doors to have conversations about salvation.

The advent season gives us an opportunity to reflect and appreciate what God has done for us through his son Jesus.  If you haven't already put your faith in Jesus, check out our how to get saved page found here.  If you haven't already received the free gift of salvation, I pray that you will this advent season.
