Answering the Question Does God Love Me?

God Love ME

I am sure that you have asked yourself this question before does God love me? If you are struggling with this issue, you are not alone. There are more non-believers and Christians that feel this way; then I can count. You are not alone in this struggle.

To answer the question does God love me, the simple answer is yes he does. There are several components to dissecting this issue. First, we must understand what the Bible says about God's love. I will list a few verses below that will show you God's love for you.

Romans 5:8 NASB “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

John 3:16 NASB “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

1 John 4:16 NASB “We have come to know and have believed the love which God has [a]for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.”

1 John 4:10 NASB “In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”

There are a few things that you should understand when asking yourself the question does God love me? First, God created you because he loved you. He didn't create you because he was bored or lonely. He created you out of love.

When we sinned against God, we separated ourselves from him. God saw this separation and sent his son Jesus to earth to die for our sins. How much of a greater love could God have for someone other than sacrificing the life of his one and only son for us? If God was willing to let his son die on the cross for us, then why would he not love us?

Does God love me even though I committed a horrible sin?

God loves you no matter what you have done or what you will do. He has proven that with the blood shed by his son Jesus. Our sin separates us from him and does not make it possible to enter heaven. God loves us so much that he did not want us to spend an eternity in hell. This is why he gave us the free gift of salvation. All you have to do is accept the free gift given by God.

God loves you no matter how many times you have failed. He loves you no matter what you have done in the past.

How do we overcome our doubt?

Titus 1:2 “in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised long ages ago,”

Faith in God's promise is the only way to overcome doubt in our lives.  God is perfect and does not lie.  Since God is perfect and does not lie, when he tells us he loves us, he means it.  When we feel like he doesn't, that is us putting doubt in God's promise.  Satan has deceived you into thinking that you are not worth loving.  Continue to pray let go of the doubt that cripples your walk with Christ.
