Satan Tempts Us Into Doing Evil

Satan

Satan tempts us all of the time.  He is always constantly there trying to put doubt in our heads.  Satan tries to manipulate our thoughts and actions.  He knows that if he works on us long enough he will break us.  The stronger we are in our walk with the Lord, the more aggressive he becomes.

When you are constantly living in your sins with no desire to free yourself from them, the devil knows he has you.  All he has to do is throw a little more fuel on the fire to keep it going.  Throw one more struggle your way or turn the knife in your back just a little harder.

As Christians, we try to remove the sin in our life.  We will always fail at this, but we can turn to God for forgiveness.  Satan tries to intercept in our relation with God.  He tires to meddle in our lives so much that our relationship with Christ is challenged.  When Satan tempts us, he gets great joy in our failures.

How Satan tempts Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

Genesis 3:4 “but from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die.'” 4 The serpent said to the woman “You surely will not die!”  “For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”…

From the beginning of time Satan tempts us.  We cannot outsmart Satan, but the good news is we have Jesus.  The devil can be overcome with the power of Jesus.

As humans, we are just like Adam and Eve.  We listen to the devil speak in our minds.  We engage in actions that are contrary to God.  Now more than ever we are challenged by Satan.  Our society is in moral decay.  What once was wrong is now being sold as truths.  It is important as Christians to guard ourselves against worldly pressures.  Do not put ourselves in compromising situations.  Satan tempts us when we least expect it.

1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”
