Satan Divides to Conquer the Church

Satan Divides

If you haven't noticed, Satan divides us to conquer us.  His acts are like water where they can leach into every little crevice unless we are waterproof.  What makes us waterproof?  The Holy Spirit guards and protects our souls against attacks from the Devil.  As Christians, we are always under attack from Satan.  When we stray from God, Satan tries to capitalize on our sin and attacks us.  The Devil uses ever technique he can to tempt us into falling for his trap.  Jesus was also tempted by Satan.

Matthew 4:1 NASB “Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.”

Just because we are tempted does not mean that we need to fall for the temptation.  We will always have sin in our lives; there is no getting around that.  We are imperfect and fall short of the glory of God.  However, we do know right from wrong are given free will.  As believers, we are also given the tools necessary to live a God-honoring life.  The Bible is our road map for living a God-centered life.  There are two choices to make.  Either follow the road map given to you by God or go astray.

Sadly, I see many Churches going astray from the word.  We are one body with many members.  Satan divides us by breaking up the one body of believers.  There is no Biblical justification for separating and dividing your Church body into segments.  All this does is allow Satan to penetrate your place of worship.  When we appeal to people, we walk away from pleasing God.  God wants us to unite to serve him as brothers and sisters in Christ, worshiping in the same body of believers.

Biblical Guidance

When I looked for guidance in the Bible for dismantling the Church body, I found this.

Romans 12:4-5 NASB “For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.”

Titus 3:10-11 EVS “As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him, 11 knowing that such a person is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.”

2 Timothy 4:3 NASB “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires,”

Satan divides us to conquer us.

One of the easiest ways that we let Satan into our Church is by not following sound Biblical doctrine.  When people choose to succumb to their selfish interests, they diminish the word of God.  The word of God is not about what we want, rather about what God wants for us.  Instead of leading a flock to righteousness, they are teaching their congregants to do what is pleasing to them.  If people were actively seeking God and his guidance, they would not be pursing their agenda.

Satan rejoices in God's displeasure of our actions.  It is easy to see a place of worship where God is the reason for the worship.  It is also easy to spot a place of worship that places ones selfish agenda over Biblical teachings.  We should always be in prayer for guidance from God. Taking surveys and seeking input from people instead of divine intervention will always lead to failure.

The bottom line is, don't fall for the trap that Satan has set.  Trust that God will provide and be obedient to his direction.
