Paul Apostle of Christ Movie 2018

Paul Apostle of Christ Movie

Scheduled to release on March 28th, 2018, Paul Apostle of Christ movie should be a hit among Christians.  I watched a trailer for the new film, and it was great to hear the director say that his main inspiration for the film came directly from the Bible.  Often in Hollywood, Christian movies are not all that Biblically accurate.  Take a look at the movie Exodus: Gods and Kings, the film was a flop at the box office.  The main reason this movie was a fiasco was due to its Biblical inaccuracy.  Christians want to be surrounded by the word of God, not fed a human-made directive.

I am excited to watch Paul Apostle of Christ movie because I enjoy watching Christian movies.  If the film is Biblically accurate, I am sure that it will be a hit.  One thing that got my attention about this movie is the story line.  Paul's life fascinates me.  The full transformation from Christian tormentor to Apostle is simply amazing.  As I read my Bible, Paul's story is one of my favorites.  Paul's life shows us that no matter how terrible of a person we are, there is always an opportunity for us to change.  Not only change but to become a follower of Christ.

Paul Apostle of Christ movie may reach unbelievers.

The most important aspect of producing a Christian movie is to be Biblically accurate.  People from outside of your target audience may watch the film as well.  This may be the only exposure that they have to the word of God.  For your film to have meaning, it must be accurate.  When directors try to follow their own storyline, then the tires fall off the car so to say.  The Bible does not always draw a clear line from one scene to the next.  When you produce a move you must connect the Bible stories in order to engage your audience.  One way that directors can avoid changing God's word is to focus on scenes that the Bible explicitly talks about.

If you remember The Bible series that was shown on the History Channel several years ago, you probably recognized most of the scenes.  In this series, the directors captured enough of the scene to fully display their creativity while at the same time being faithful to the Bible.  This Bible series is one of my all-time favorites; hopefully, Paul apostle of Christ movie will be as exciting.

Revelation 22:18-19 NASB 18 I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book.
