Why Should We Share Gospel Truths With Others?

Share Gospel Truths

Yesterday Dare 2 Share showed kids how to share Gospel truths with complete strangers.  The live event was broadcast to over 70 Churches across the United States.  This experience helped equip youth and give them the tools necessary to be witnesses to others.  It was great seeing over 200 children gather at our Church to worship together and share Gospel truths with strangers in our city.

How often do you share Gospel truths with your friends, family, or complete strangers?  I am sure that there a good number of you reading this that actively witness to others.  On the other hand, there are a lot of us that can do better, including me.  See, the people that cross our paths in life are the people that God wants you to share the Gospel with.  Every time you come in contact with a stranger is a new opportunity to share Gospel truths.  God doesn't want us to hide the gift that has been given to us.  He wants us to share it with others so that they can receive the gift as well.

Your interaction with the person you meet at the grocery store or the movie theater may be the only encounter that this person has with God.  The gift of salvation can be shared several ways.  The first way is to express what Jesus has done for humanity verbally.  You can share the good news with the other person or show them a Bible verse such as John 3:16 to reinforce your words.  Secondly, your actions can let your light shine as well.  If you speak kind words but your actions are bitter, what example do you show?  We can lead people to Christ through the way we conduct ourselves.  If we are living a Christ-like life, others cannot help but wonder what sets you apart from the world.

John 3:16 NASB “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Share Gospel truths because Jesus told you to do so.

If you find yourself sitting on the sidelines of evangelism, look no further than Matthew 28:16-20.  In this set of verses, Jesus is talking to his disciples about sharing the Gospel with others.  Jesus states that he has been placed in an authority position over heaven and earth.  This statement shows the extent of his power.  When Jesus told his disciples to go out into the world and share the Gospel with others, it wasn't a recommendation, but a command.

That same command that Jesus gave his disciples is relevant to us as well.  The disciples knew who Jesus is and his significance for humanity.  They knew that he was the only way to heaven.  The disciples believed in the mission so much that many of them gave their life for the cause.  When you put this into perspective, it shouldn't be hard for you to share the Gospel with the kid bagging your groceries at the store.  Our task is as important as it was given to the disciples.  Let us not diminish the importance of our mission.
