Does Your Relationship with God Cause Fireworks?

Relationship with God

How is your relationship with God?  Do you find your relationship with God as a convenience tool or friendship?  As you can see, there are two paths that you can take your relationship down.  When you choose a path of friendship, you may find some turmoil when dealing with others that use God as a convenience tool.  It is hard to engage with others that use God, just when they need something.  They do not see the importance of including him in every aspect of their life.

Let the fireworks begin!  You all know who I am talking about.  The person or persons in your life that surround themselves with drama.  Their drama is caused by a lack of a relationship with God.  You don't have to judge the other person's heart to know what is happening.  You can see a lack of Christ-like-character present in their life.  It is hard to have a relationship with these people because they are always pushing the envelope with their self interests.

As this 4th of July is upon us, I am reminded of many broken relationships that I see.  People struggling in their lives because they have not built a solid foundation on the Word of God.  As humans, we cannot change the hearts and minds of others.  We can only pray to God for their well-being and continue to be Christ-like in our approach to them.  They say that time heals all wounds.  I would have to disagree.  God heals all wounds and time is one of the worst enemies to the healing.

Does your relationship with God shine for others?

As we gather with our family and friends tomorrow to celebrate our Independence as a nation, let us reflect on the free-will that our creator gave us.  We live in a country where we are free to choose and direct our destiny.  We too live in a world where we have free will to choose heaven or hell.  Celebrating our freedom provides us an excellent opportunity to witness to others.  Between the cookouts and fireworks, consider sharing your faith with others.
