We Need to Rely in God Instead of on Ourselves.

We must rely in God if we want him to take control of our lives.  I use “in” instead of “on” because our focus must be God driven in us.  When you engage Christians on social media, they are quick to point out the things that they do or should do.  They are also quick to point out things other people should do as well.  When our focus is on ourselves, we are missing out on so much that God has to offer in our lives.

Recently I engaged a pastor about an article he posted regarding millennials.  The article had a lot to say about me, you, I and the Church.  What it was lacking was a focus on the father, spirit, and son.

We simply cannot try to make things right by ourselves.  We cannot fix problems without divine intervention.  When our problem solving revolves around people and a Church, we will never truly fix our problems.

I am a strong believer that you must bring everything to God.  God will work in your life and fix problems as he sees fit.  This doesn't mean that we will get a yes answer every time.  Sometimes we must accept a no.

When we rely in God, we open the doors for spiritual intervention and wisdom.  Without praying and seeking divine guidance, we are lost sheep wandering aimlessly around.  When Church leaders do not rely in God, they allow their flock to scatter and get lost.

Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”

Are we trusting in the Lord, or are we trusting in our understanding?

Rely in God to change your life

Do you ever wonder why the path that you are on seems to go the wrong way all of the time?

Proverbs 3:6 “In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

Are we acknowledging God in every aspect of our life?  When we rely on God for everything, he will straighten our paths.  I would challenge my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to re-engage their walk with the Lord.  Put God first in everything you do.  When you stumble, ask for his wisdom.  Do not try to fix things on your own without bringing them to God first.  I guarantee that you will see a drastic positive change in your life when you put God before people and Church.
