Helping Others That We Dont Know

Helping Others

This time of year generosity is in the air, and we feel like helping others.  We are reminded to help others every time we enter store and hear the bell ringers.  We spare a bit of change in our pocket, pat ourselves on the back for the good deed we have done and move on our merry way.  I am not discouraging donating money to charity, but I want you to think deeper for just a moment.  Think if you gave the gift of Jesus this holiday season instead?  The gift of eternal life.  Well, how do you do that?  It is easier than you think.

Opportunities are all around us, every day in fact.

Mark 16:15-16 NASB And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.  He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.”

Helping others by sewing the seed of life.

ALL creation.  That's right; we are told as believers to tell everyone about the good news of Jesus.  Just think if you planted one seed.  If you can lead one person to Jesus and they were, in turn, able to lead two more people to Jesus and so on.  That one seed you planted could have ripples for generations to come.

We all have our ways of witnessing to others, and there is no right or wrong way to tell others about Jesus.  It is our instruction as believers to plant the seed.  God will work on the soul where the seed is planted.  Next time you think about helping others consider this.  Did I show God in me?

1 John 2:6 NASB “the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.”

Can others see that you imitate Jesus?  Do you walk the walk and talk the talk when helping others?  Do you have a burning desire to help others spiritually as well as physically?  Spreading the word of God costs us nothing, but not sharing the Scriptures can cost someone everything for eternity.
