God's light shines the most when we are broken. Through our fractures of sin, mistake, and regret, God's light is abundant. God continues to work through the darkest times in our life. Sometimes we are so far removed from his presence by our choosing that it is nearly impossible to see him working in our life. One thing that is for certain others can see God's light even when we don't.

Have you ever been in a situation where you thought that the hole was so deep that you could never climb out? When the impossible task is present in our life, is when God will take full advantage of the situation to use it for his glory. One of the hardest things for me to overcome was having faith. Faith does not just believe that God is real, but it is about believing what God can accomplish if we trust in him.

Many people walk through life with very little faith. Stress and worries consume every aspect of their life. Instead of putting God in control of their destiny, they struggle to produce results that can only be accomplished through divine intervention. What I mean is without God, these struggles will never be able to become resolved. I am sure that you have felt the feeling of despair before. Despair feels like a giant elephant on your back. When you get beat down with a struggle, you can barely move forward. When a little conflict gets added to the top, the weight compounds and stops you dead in your tracks. Instead of a simple problem being resolved, we attach the problem to the massive burden that we already carry.

Psalm 55:22 NASB Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.

God's light shines during our time of need.

When I think of God's love for us, I think of the poem “Footprints in the Sand“.  Isn't this rendition of God's love for us so true?  We don't always see God working in our life, but we always know that he is there.  I would encourage you to bring your trials to God and accept his loving wisdom.  He will not only walk next to you through your struggles, but he will carry you when you need him to.

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it:

“LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me.”

The LORD replied:

“My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you.”
