Getting over me – living better putting Him first

Getting over me - Kirk Taylor

Let me tell you how I am getting over me. I finally found somebody that is with me all the time, no matter what I do. You don’t leave me when I screw up. You don’t turn your back on me because I don’t fit the picture you want for me.

Yes, I am getting over me because I have someone who is so great that I know you will always be with me. When I fall, you will pick me up. When everyone else is gone, you are still here with me.

The best part of “getting over me,” is letting you inside of me. You move me to do what I would never do by myself, and you are teaching me not to be afraid.

Getting over me makes it all about you

It is all about you, the one who makes me better, challenges me to do goodness for others, and to free my spirit so that I can love others as I love you.

You are increasing my strength. Your love made me to look my friends in the eye, to tell them when I met them, I looked down on them, and ask them for forgiveness as I am not as good as they are. You gave them the power to accept my apology and to comfort me in my pain of admitting my wrong.

Yep, you are helping me to get over me. No longer is this life about me, but it begins with you.

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7 NIV

Teach me to do better, and to be one of your followers who is an example for others to see what you do for all of us.

People can judge me for loving you. They can say what they want, thinking I've dived off the deep end because I have and I am in the deep end. I am all in for you.

Thank you, Lord, for your strength, love, and encouragement to get over me.
