Expose Lies in a Broken World

Expose Lies

As Christians, it is our job to expose lies in our broken culture.  The Bible calls us to be the salt and light of the world so that all can see the Glory of God living in us.

Matthew 5:13-16  “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Lies are around us every day; they are abundant in our life.  Everything from homosexual marriage to the sinful lusts that we watch on TV.  We are always being fed Lies.  We must expose lies for what they are.  Lies are sin and sin separates us from God.

I think that this is abundantly necessary when we are trying to reach our youth.  Our children are growing up in a world saturated with lies.  These narratives are injected into our society by Satan.  With social media at the forefront, Satan is having a hay day.  Now it is easier than ever to promote “acceptable” sins.

In the past, there were not computers, I-phones, Snap Chat or Facebook.  If you want to infiltrate the minds of children, now you can do it with a few clicks on your phone or computer.  Don't get me wrong, not all technology is used to further Satan's deceit.  There are a lot of great resources that help bring people to Christ.

Why should we expose lies?

Not everyone knows that what they are hearing is a lie.  We do not need to be the finger pointers and just judge people.  What we do need to do is share Biblical principals with everyone.  Just telling someone that they are wrong and you are right is not enough.  We don't even need to point the finger.  Just sharing scripture and living our lives in a God-pleasing way will make you stand out enough.

People that are struggling in their lives or are looking for something more will see your light.  When our light goes into darkness, we cannot help but be illuminated so that others can see.

Let's make our lives a light and expose lies.  Let God do the heavy lifting as we show his glory.
