We are Experiencing a Worldview Shift

worldview shift

A worldview shift is walking our culture farther and farther away from God.  We have become a society that is overly accepting of people to the point of utter ridiculousness.  As a Christian, I have seen a deep divide between the word of God and the wishes of man.  Satan is playing our culture in a way that not only ignores the word of God but creates our new standards.  We are chastised for holding firm to the word of God.  Speaking the truth alienates us from non-believers.  The word of God cannot be more clearly defined then it is today.

How does something so false become accepted by so many as a factual truth?

I would point out that the farther you are away from God, the blinder you are to the truth.  When your focus is on making yourself happy, you will find your self more unhappy.  When you focus on honoring and pleasing God, you will experience something like you have never experienced before.  Instead of forcing others to accept you the way you are, why not focus on what God wants for your life?  There is only one choice that you get to make in this life that has any meaning.  Just one choice that will live beyond this earth.

See, you can either chose to accept that you are a sinner or deny sin.   When a worldview shifts from fact and reality to fallacy and acceptance, you have crossed into the world of denial.  Just because a worldview shift moves towards acceptance, does not mean that it is right.  As a society, we need to quit telling people that they should be comfortable being who they are.  Instead of covering your flaws with a heavy coat of denial, why not try something different?

A worldview shift is a move away from God.

God, the creator, should be the center and focus of our life.  When there is a worldview shift, that movement is away from God.  The farther our society gets away from God, the more accepting people are of sin.  God defines what sin is.  We do not get to chose what lifestyle choices quality as sinful or righteous.  God measures the parameters of our behavior.  I am amazed that so many people accept and rejoice in immoral behavior.

The world has gotten very dark over the past few decades.  There has been a worldview shift away from God.  It is no longer enough to tell others that their lifestyle choice is a sin.  The only way to combat a worldview shift is to show people Jesus.  Until someone decides to live their life for Christ, no matter what you do or say will draw them closer to God.  An overwhelming number of people in the Christian community have lost their focus.  To be accepted in our culture, some Christians have decided to accept the premise that some sins are not sinning.  To believe this is counter to God.

Let me finish today with this set of verses from Mark.

Mark 9:43-48 NASB 43 If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life crippled, than, having your two hands, to go into hell, into the unquenchable fire, 44 [where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.] 45 If your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life lame, than, having your two feet, to be cast into hell, 46 [where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.] 47 If your eye causes you to stumble, throw it out; it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, than, having two eyes, to be cast into hell, 48 where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.
