Commit to Christ – Making the decision

Your Decision to commit to Christ is not as simple as going to Church on Sunday and saying a few prayers. Committing to Christ takes you to a deeper understanding of what God can and will do for you.

For me to say it takes a more in-depth understanding is an understatement and is only fully appreciated after you have invested considerable time in walking with Jesus. I have read the Bible cover-to-cover, joined a Bible study, participate in a Life Group, and am active in helping to launch the Celebrate Recovery program my church is kicking off in fall.

All this, and I am still working on being 100% committed in every day to doing God's will. I know that I will never be perfect, but he has work for me to do, for myself and others like me.

Commit to Christ everyday

I work at pleasing Him every day, and he brings more and more challenges for me to overcome. The biggest is trusting him in everything I do. That's not an easy thing to do, especially when we are not on the same timeline. Admittedly my patience is wearing thin lately, but I will not fail. I am trusting him to guide me and do what is right.

When I make a mistake, it does not take long, and he lets me know I have done wrong. I am quick to admit my errors without excuse. I am not so good for asking for his forgiveness, something that I know will be in my prayers.

Confessing that Jesus is my Lord and Savior, that God raised him from the dead is an awesome experience. And, when you first learn to trust God, it will take you to a whole new experience. At the same time, you will face challenges from Satan who wants you even more because you are walking with Jesus.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

When you seek him, you will evolve from focusing on yourself to focusing on others. Focusing on others is far more rewarding than anything you could obtain by focusing on yourself.
