Christians that are Living in Sin

Living in Sin

When you think of the phrase living in sin, what comes to mind?  Do you think of the boyfriend and girlfriend living together before marriage?  Most of us “Christians” would point the finger at them when we say living in sin.  Christians have taken a holier than thou approach to life in present day.  Society has twisted and turned wrongs into right.  When you dig in with a try to merge “rock solid” Christians with the new world norm, you always end up in disaster.

The Bible tells us not to judge others.

Luke 6:37 NASB “Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned.”

Are we Christians living in sin as well?

When we are judging others, we are committing a sin as well.  When we constantly judge others and their actions, we are living in sin.  We are pulling our lives into other people's sin and therefore causing us to sin in the process.

There are Biblical ways to let Christians know that they are committing a sin without bringing the sin upon ourselves in the process.  We should not let our brothers and sisters in Christ have a free pass when it comes to sin.  The Bible calls us to approach the sinner.  If the sinner does not listen, we are called to bring other Christians into the conversation.  If the conversation falls on deaf ears yet again, we are called to get the Church involved.

Matthew 18:15-17  “If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother. But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every fact may be confirmed. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.”

Let's approach all sin as Biblically accountable as possible.  The next time you look at sin in another, don't fall into the trap of living in sin yourself.  Confront the sin and engage the sinner in the word of God.  Save the judgment for the Creator.
