Do Christians get jealous of God's success in other people's lives? I have seen it first hand. Admitting that Christians get jealous is not easy to do. How could a believer in Christ, be jealous of a fellow brother or sister's success? Jealousy comes when we lack a solid foundation in our relationship with Christ. When we accept God's will for our life, something inside of us changes.
Have you ever found yourself saying, I wish our Church were more like that Church? I hope God would bless me the way he has blessed that person. I'm a good person, why doesn't God help me out? See, when you think in these mindsets, you are looking right past your blessings. Sometimes your blessing is found in the trials that you endure. When I was younger, I had many of my trials that I went through. I questioned why is God letting this happen? Am I not good enough? Did I do something wrong?
When I started to see things through God's eyes, my life changed. Bad things happen to Christ followers all of the time. Notice how I didn't say “good people”? None of us are good, but all of us can become Christ followers. Each experience that we go through in life is an opportunity to draw our hearts closer to God. When Christians get jealous of God working in the lives of other Christians, they only bring harm upon themselves.

What does the Bible say about Jealousy? After all we are just human right?
James 3:14-16 NASB But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic. 16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing.
James tells us that jealousy is earthly and demonic. When Christians get jealous with God's work in the lives of other Christians, the are letting the Devil guide their heart. Instead of letting your heart be tugged away from God's work, embrace the work that he is doing in others lives. Seeing the work of the Kingdom being carried out should excite us all. There is no need to have a bitter heart towards a brother or sister in Christ that is doing God's will. Instead of looking at them with sharp eyes, open your heart and join them. God wants us all to be part of his work here on earth.
