Change Your Life By Being Biblically Positive

Being Biblically Positive

Being biblical positive is entirely different than what our society says is positive.  Society says it is ok to do this or ok to do that.  Be who you want as long as you are happy.  How many times does a worldly conflict with being biblically positive?  Quite a few times.  I don't want to get into specific sins that the Bible warns us to abstain from.  Just Google “Biblical sins” and you can make quite a list.  I am sure you will find quite a few things that you are doing or not doing in your life that needs some Biblical intervention.

What I'm talking about when referring to being Biblically positive, is how do we see God and his word?  Do we use it to change our life or others for the better?  Do we reset the course and take our life in a new direction or path?

I know from my life experiences that finding positivity in worldly things and comforts always leave you feeling empty inside.  We strive for perfection and are extremely hard on ourselves when we fail at life.  We set unobtainable humanly goals that are not God-honoring.  These lost goals send us into a pit of despair.  How we choose to interact with our friends and family can set the tone of our conversation with them.  When someone is the hamster on the wheel, telling them to keep running on the wheel just a little faster is only going to keep them running on the wheel indefinitely.

Change your life and others by being Biblically positive.

I have been there.  I have been the friend that tried to be worldly positive by saying it is going to be ok; it is going to get better or next time you will get it.  Without putting biblical teeth to our positive tongue, it is indeed meaningless words.  Wait a minute, shouldn't I be a positive and encouraging person?  Doesn't that inspire people to better themselves?  Well yes and no.

Being biblically positive intentionally to get people off the hamster wheel of despair is what we should be doing.  I am not talking about pointing out the endless amounts of negatives or sins going on in someone's life.  I am talking about sharing the word of God in a positive light.  Sharing scripture can help people cope and work through their struggles in a Biblical manner.  There many uplifting and positive Bible verses that apply to a variety of situations.  Part of digging deep into the Bible gives you opportunities to share these verses with people who need them the most.

I will leave you with this passage from Matthew 12:33-37.

Matthew 12:33-37 NASB “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit.  You brood of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart.  The good man brings out of his good treasure what is good; and the evil man brings out of his evil treasure what is evil.  But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment.  For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
